Working to change lives
About us
Buntu Foundation (Buntu) was established 2020 in response to a grave reality faced by many expecting mothers in Uganda at a critical time in their lives and families.
In Uganda, five women die every day while giving birth. Many of these deaths are avoidable, however due to lack of financial resources or access to adequate healthcare facilities and services many Uganda women will die while giving birth. The problem is further complicated by the fact many women at risk are illiterate and young women do not have access to proper reproductive health education and sanitary products.
Using a whole of life approach to motherhood, the Buntu delivers three programs, Project Dignity, Project Equip and Project Life to address access to sanitary products, reproductive education, and prevention of avoidable childbirth death.
Our overall objective is to create a generation of well-informed mothers, who take personal responsibility for their lives and live long beautiful lives, enjoying their children and grandchildren whilst positively contributing to their local community.
Vision
Our vision is to provide health care and wellbeing services to women in Uganda through the creation of Community Health Care and Wellness Hubs across Uganda.
